Our Mission

At UAAC, our mission is to foster a sense of belonging and connection for Uzbek immigrants while sharing our culture with the broader community. We believe in the power of unity, education, and cultural exchange. Through various public events, forums, and educational programs, we aim to celebrate our traditions and empower the next generation.

Educational Programs

We conduct classes for children and adults alike, focusing on language, culture, religion and traditions.

Community Events

We organize a variety of public events that celebrate Uzbek culture, including festivals, holiday celebrations, and community gatherings.

Support for New Immigrants

We offer resources and guidance for newly arrived immigrants, helping them navigate the challenges of settling into a new country.

Serajuddin Nasafi

Founder and First President

Serajuddin Nasafi, an immigrant himself who arrived in the United States in the 1970s, established UAAC with a vision to create a supportive environment for fellow Uzbeks. His personal journey inspires our work and commitment to helping others find their footing in a new land.

Olim Sharipov

President of Uzbek American Association of Chicago

Our current President, joined UAAC with a commitment to furthering its mission. A native of Karshi, Uzbekistan, Olim immigrated to the U.S. in the 1990s. With a background as a tax professional and entrepreneur, he brings a wealth of experience and passion for community service. Under his leadership, UAAC continues to thrive and expand its outreach, fostering connections and supporting the needs of our community.
